To enrol your Prep child at Birkdale State School for 2025, follow these easy steps:
Step 1: Expression of Interest (Open now!)
For each child, complete an Expression of Interest Form and email to enrol@birkdaless.eq.edu.au.
You will receive information regarding transition events that your child is invited to attend. Our transition visits, open days and information sessions are included in our BSS Transition to Prep 2025 document.
Step 2: Enrolment application (From June, 2024)
For each child, complete an Education Queensland enrolment application, consent for
media, and internet.
Step 3: Return forms
Return the completed forms to the office. You will also need to bring:
• Original birth certificate for each child; or child's current passport and visa
documents if they were born overseas for our staff to sight.
You can download the necessary forms, or collect copies from our school office. If you have
questions regarding enrolling your child in our school please contact us. enrol@birkdaless.eq.edu.au
Step 3: Enrolment Interview (October-November 2024)
Once the enrolment application has been received and processed, an interview with either our Deputy Principal or Prep Year Level Coordinator will be arranged for you and your child/children. The enrolment interview is also an opportunity to discuss your child's transition or any medical/diagnosed conditions. Please bring any reports from specialists or medical practitioners/health workers. Medication forms must be completed if your child/ren has any specific issue requiring the administration of medication.
Step 4: Keep your child's information up to date
- Change of address
- There is a change in emergency contact numbers
- Significant changes occur with regard to your child's health
- You feel we should know of any other changes which concern your child eg. work phone numbers, custody/court orders.
Our fully airconditioned Prep classrooms provide a developmentally appropriate educational environment for children. Our highly experienced teachers and teacher aides implement a full-day program (8:50-3:00pm) 5 days per week.
